Institutional Order Flow Basics

Once you see markets as a function of liquidity, you will never see them the same way again. When we as retailers, or even small hedge funds, place a trade we have little-to-no impact on market price, we just don’t have the liquidity to make a big difference. What that means is that when markets are moving, it’s because there are one or more large institutions stepping in or out of the market. The key to profitable trading is riding on the backs of these whales and, more importantly, knowing when and where to jump on.
