Part 1 is all about building a firm foundation of knowledge on which to build your analysis skills and create an objective, unquestionable edge in your trading. We can’t effectively surge ahead without knowing where we came from, so first up we dive into the history of technical analysis and run you through the basics of Elliot Wave Theory and Classical Charting. We then do a comprehensive study of trading’s biggest myths which will help prevent you from chasing your tail around an edge that doesn’t actually exist, a trap that most traders are still caught in.

From roughly the 1860s through the 1960s, stock prices were transmitted over telegraph lines on a ticker tape that included a ticker symbol, price, and volume. Tape reading is an old technique that day traders used to analyze a given stock's price and volume to gain a read on when changes in price were beginning to occur. Nowadays ticker tapes are long gone but the art of tape reading remains… if you know where to look.
